Hello and welcome to our class page for:
Class Rowan
Hayley is the Class Teacher in Rowan, along with Ellen and Rylan, who are the Teaching Assistants.
In our class:
- Special Breakfast is every Friday morning where we have a great range of tasty and healthy breakfast foods. We also celebrate our pupils' achievements throughout the week and our rights-respecting stars with certificates.
- Swimming is on Tuesday mornings - Children will need their Kit.

Our Learning SPRING 1
This term we are looking at Darwin's Dragons . We are exploring the elements of descriptive writing and will create a character description using interesting language features.
MATHS
As mathematicians, we will focus on Time, Fractions, Number and place value, as well as capacity and weight. We will also push our thinking by exploring mathematical reasoning and problem solving.

SCIENCE
As scientists, we are focussing on Following Darwins Footsteps
Our big question is:
‘What is evolution?’
We will be taking a trip to the Manchester museum to see some of Darwin's theory, 'Origin of species' come to life by looking at fossils and natural animals.
Geography
OCEANS
This half term we are looking at the worlds oceans, human impacts on that ecosystem and how we can help. We will be going on a local field trip to observe local waterways.
Our big question is ‘Why do Oceans Matter?’
ART
As artists, we will be focussing on Painting, then we will move on to collage.
D&T
As designers, will be looking at 'What could be healthier?"
We will explore lifestyles and diet, and think about what we can do to design a healthier option.
MUSIC
In music we are focusing on songs that focus on Happiness. We will consider instrument and lyric choices that aid this, as well as beat and tempo.
COMPUTING
As technology users, we will look again at E-Safety. Keeping our children safe online is really important. We will also be completing a coding crash course.
PSHE
As global citizens, the theme for this term is Keeping Safe.
We will be doing lots of work around upcoming transitions and peer pressure, particularly preparation for the move to High School (It can be quite scary).
RE
As global citizens, we will continue this half term with our key question: How do we reduce Racism?
PE
This half term we will be taking part in Swimming
