Welcome to Rowan Class! Supporting your children in the classroom are: Hayley the class teacher, as well as Ellen and Rylan our amazing teaching assistants.

In our class:

• Special Breakfast is every Friday morning where we have a great range of tasty and healthy breakfast foods. We also celebrate our pupils' achievements throughout the week and our rights-respecting stars with certificates.
• Swimming is on Tuesday mornings - Children will need their Kit.

Our Learning SPRING 1 

This term we are looking at Hansel and Gretel by Anthony Browne. We are exploring the elements of descriptive writing and will create a descriptive setting.

MATHS

As mathematicians, we will focus on Time, Fractions, Number and place value, as well as capacity and weight.

Make sure you go on TT Rockstars and My Maths at home to do extra practice to help you. (see links at the bottom of the page).

SCIENCE

As scientists, we are focussing on Following Darwins Footsteps

Our big question is:

‘What is evolution?’

HISTORY

As Historians, we will be learning about Leisure and Entertainment

Our big question is ‘How has Leisure and Entertainment changed over time?’

ART

As artists, we will be focussing on Painting.

D&T

As designers, will be looking at Bridges. In this unit we will be looking at Constructing a Strong Bridge.

COMPUTING

As technology users, we will look again at E-Safety. Keeping our children safe online is really important.

PSHE

As global citizens, the theme for this term is Keeping Safe.

We will be doing lots of work around upcoming transitions and peer pressure, particularly preparation for the move to High School (It can be quite scary).

RE

As global citizens, we will continue this half term with our key question: How do we reduce Racism?

PE

This half term we will be taking part in Swimming
