WILLOW 2024 - 2025

Hello and welcome to our class page for:

Willow class

Welcome to Willow class! Jonny Carroll is the class teacher in Willow, along with Olivia and Saskia who are the teaching assistants.

Special Breakfast happens each Friday where we have lots of tasty food, such as, pancakes, scrambled eggs, toast, beans and lots of fresh fruit. We give our certificates to our Rights Respecting Superstars and find out which Duty Bearers have earned an extra special mention too. 

Please try and read with your child regularly either online using MyOn or by using their reading book if you have requested one to be sent home

Our Learning Autumn 2 2024

ENGLISH 

This term we will be focussing on 'Hidden Figures' by Margot Lee Shatterly. We will then be looking at 'The Lost Happy Endings' by Carol Ann Duffy.

MATHS

We will be studying division and multiplication, fractions, time and then finishing the year on some geometry, shape and measure.

As mathematicians, we will focus on Time, Multiplication & Division, Fractions and Measure.

Make sure you go on TT Rockstars and My Maths at home to do extra practice to help you. (see links at the bottom of the page).

SCIENCE

As scientists, our topic is Bright Sparks which focusses on Light and Electricity.

Geography

As geographers, our question is ‘Why does population change?’.

ART

As artists, we will be focussing on painting.

D&T

As designers, we will be looking at the Digital World. In this unit, we will be looking at monitoring devices.

COMPUTING

As technology users, we will be looking at Online Safety and Blogging.

PSHE

As global citizens, the theme for this term is Relationships and Sex Education (RSE).

RE

As global citizens, we will continue this half term with our key question: What do religions say to us when life gets hard? 

PE

This half term we will be taking part in swimming. Please bring in your swimming kits every Wednesday.
