Class Yew

Welcome to Yew Class! Supporting your children in the classroom are: Donella Machin the class teacher, as well Ruckhsana (TA3), Lee (TA2) and Jodie (TA1) our amazing teaching assistants.

In our class:

• Special Breakfast is every Friday morning where we have a great range of tasty and healthy breakfast foods. We also celebrate our pupils' achievements throughout the week and our rights-respecting stars with certificates.
• Please log in to class dojo everyday to see what your child has been up to in school. Key messages and updates are also sent on class dojo. Here is the link:
• Please try and read with your child regularly either online using MyOn or using a reading book if you have requested one to be sent home.

Our Learning Spring 2 2025

ENGLISH  

This term we will be looking at 'Darwin's Dragons' while using the Talk for writing scheme. We will be exploring diffrent charecters in the stroy and develop their skills in writing detailed charecter descriptions. We will focus on using key tools and techniques to help them become confident and effective writers of descriptive texts. 

MATHS

As mathematicians, we will focus on Time, Fractions, Place Value and Measure.

Make sure you go on TT Rockstars and My Maths at home to do extra practice to help you. (see links at the bottom of the page).

SCIENCE

As scientists, we are focussing on Darwin's footsteps. 

Geography

As geographers, are big question is 'Why do oceans matter?'

ART

As artists, we will be focussing on Printing.

D&T

As designers, will be exploring bridge construction and examining the structure of diffrent types of bridges. 

COMPUTING

As technology users, we will look at Coding on purple mash. 

PSHE

As global citizens, the theme for this term is Mental Health and Wellbeing. 

RE

As global citizens, we will continue this half term with our key question: What can be done to reduce racism?

PE

This half term we will be taking part in Swimming lessons. 

Please bring in your swimming kits every Tuesday.
